Easy Restaurant Style Salsa
Everyone enjoys some good chips and salsa but most of the time the stuff you get at the grocery store just doesn’t cut it. This very simple salsa recipe will make you feel like you’re at a Mexican restaurant, you just need the margarita to pair it with! This is a highly adjustable recipe to your personal tastes. Start with the listed ingredients then add whatever else you would like! I will list some of our favorite things to add below. I highly recommend adding a couple of the optional ingredients, especially one that will add a little spice, but this is truly the best recipe to get creative with!
Ingredients:
28 oz can Diced tomatoes with all the juices
10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies with all the juices
5-8 cloves of garlic peeled
1 medium yellow onion quartered
Juice of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lime
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp white vinegar
1 hand full/ bunch of cilantro
Optional adds
Jalapenos
Habanero
Pablano pepper
Crushed red pepper
Mango
Pineapple
Yellow chili pepper
Roasted red pepper
Chili peppers in adobo sauce
Add all the ingredients and your optional additions to a blender roughly chopped, then blend. Allow the salsa to marinate in the fridge for a couple hours, then enjoy!
This recipe does make a ton of salsa. You can throw some of it in the freezer for safe keeping, but we find it can separate a bit when thawed. Our easy fix for that is to throw it back in the blender for a few seconds to mix it back up.
For this recipe we use our Ninja blender. The hype around it is accurate. I barely have to chop any of the ingredients and within seconds they are perfectly incorporated. You can buy it from Amazon from the link below.
