Top Oils for Cast Iron Seasoning
There are many different oils you can use for seasoning your cast iron pans, and I have tried most of them. Here are the top ones that I recommend.

Avocado Oil
Avocado oil is the oil I use primarily for all of my seasoning and high-heat cooking. I love it the most because it has a very high smoke point and tends to be a bit healthier than any seed or nut butter. This one from Amazon is great and reasonably priced.
Grapeseed Oil
Grapeseed oil is another fantastic option and is much more affordable than avocado oil. I used it for years before upgrading to avocado oil but grapeseed oil will still give it that perfect non-stick cooking surface.
Vegetable Oil
Vegetable oil. Definitive cheapest option on the list and will still do a great job for your cast iron pan. Usually, when I get a new pan, I will season the handle and the outside of the pan with vegetable oil and then use avocado oil for the inside to save a bit of money.
Oil Sprayer
Once your pan is very well seasoned, it’s easier to use an oil sprayer to just keep up the seasoning with much less effort. This link takes you to a 2 pack that we use ourselves for our oils. This will save you from wasting oil once your pan is well seasoned.
