This title here is a doozy because there isn’t an answer to this question. The most important part is that you get yourself a cast iron pan and start using it for all of your cooking. Our honest advice is that you should find a used one on Offer up or Marketplace but if you’re not a fan of buying something second hand here are a few options to start fresh.
The first one is your standard and trusty Lodge cast iron skillet. Lodge has been around since 1896 and the quality of their cookware stands out. One of the big complaints about Lodge is that their seasoning is very rough. With my Lodge pan, I sanded this down because I believe in the value of a smooth surface, and after building it up this pan is truly non-stick and absolutely perfect. Lodge works great but it does require a bit of elbow grease but at the affordable price it comes in, you won’t regret it.
This cast iron skillet comes from a newer brand called Stargazer. They are a pretty new company starting out in 2015 but their quality is top-notch. They specifically machine their pan flat and smooth for that surface you need and make it ready to cook immediately. It is a bit pricey but keep in mind, it will last you forever!
The last one on the list is a very basic cast iron from Amazon Basics. But it is about 15 inches and I’ve found that it’s beneficial to have a large cast iron for large one-pan meals. It’s always nice to have some room in the pan so it’s not so cluttered and this will work well. Just make sure your burner is big enough for cooking!
This is a cookbook that I found at a local bookstore a couple of years ago and I have slowly been working through it and all of the recipes we have tried are delicious. My only advice is to use the larger-sized cast iron pans for the recipes so the pan isn’t cluttered!
